Meet The Staff
Emma Riedel
Chair
Dear Delegates,
My name is Emma Riedel, and I’m excited to serve as your chair for Love in the Boardroom - Match Group Board of Directors 2023 at LAMUN XXI. I’m looking forward to getting to meet you all and I have no hard believing this is going to be a fun and creative committee: if you all are up for it.
I am a third-year studying Anthropology and Political Science and minoring in Education Studies. I love music, Youtube, movie theaters, starting new crafting hobbies I will eventually forget about, and traveling anywhere there are trees or mountains. I also work as a Bruin Ambassador on campus and I hope to go into education policy after university. My interest in policy and in leadership pulled me to Model UN @ UCLA and now chairing my second committee.
I joined Model UN my freshman year of high school where I got the chance to travel several times for conferences and become close with our team. While my traveling days are behind me, I loved the idea of organizing and staffing conferences to share the experience with other people. I still keep in touch with my friends on MUN teams at other schools and am privileged to have found this club at UCLA and serve on your LAMUN senior staff.
This committee follows the Board of Directors who oversee all your favorite apps: Hinge, Tinder, okCupid, and some more that maybe you’ve yet to try. You all will attempt to find the balance between profit and promises of true love while navigating safety criticisms and Tik Tok horror stories. There’s a lot of room for scandal and broken hearts; we can’t wait to see what y’all make of this committee!

Allison Fazis
Crisis Director
My name is Alli Fazis (she/her) and I will be your Crisis Director for the Match Group Board of Directors! I am a third year Pure Mathematics Major and Philosophy Minor. My goal is to go to graduate school and pursue a PhD in Mathematics, from there I’ll see where the wind takes me! On top of MUN I participate in any and all intramural sports in addition to to running a super cool and awesome Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a truly unreasonable number of people.
My high school never had a MUN team (shoutout speech and debate kids), so last year was my first year in MUN ever. Model UN has been the highlight of my college experience and I have loved every minute I have spent with this team. I was lucky enough to be a backroom staffer for the AdHoc at LAMUN last year but this will be my first time as a CD at LAMUN. I also began competing on the college circuit this year which has been an absolute blast .
I ashamedly have both a Tinder and Hinge account that have been lying dormant on my phone for about a year. Online dating has always fascinated me as a concept and I am so excited to dig deeper into this developing industry. There is nothing more human than searching for connection but is it even possible to connect with someone you met through a screen? I have no clue! But I can't wait to hear you all debate that question along with so many more! I’m unbelievably excited to see all of your creative and disruptive backroom arcs and hoping to break the LAMUN record for number of marriages in one committee.
Model United Nations is one of the best parts of my college experience. Even though I have only been a part of it for a little over a year, I have met some of my best friends and made some amazing memories during my time in this club. I am so excited for you all to be a part of this committee, and I hope you all have as much fun participating in it as I did planning it!
